Bird life at Afonwen

The RSPB has reported around 80,000 starlings nesting in the reed beds by the Afonwen lake.

The starling displays we have every night around 5 o’clock are amazing, particularly with the fantastic sunsets we have been having.

They also reported a rare sighting of a Bittern by the lake.

This shot was taken of a buzzard surrounded by the thousands of starlings.
