Our garden and flowers around the farm have always been good but this year we are particularly proud of the displays.
Back in February we got the beds prepared and started planting out.
On May 9th we had a fantastic display of the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) over the farm. See the photos below for some of the spectacular scenes we saw.
On April 10th 2024 we saw some of the worst floods we have experienced over the Afonwen Bridge. Perhaps the walk to the beach had better wait until another day!
Our Welcome – Croeso stone on the Afonwen Farm driveway is looking good! We are hopeful for some great results in our garden and around the farm this year.
Afonwen Farm was a stopover point for the 2024 Wales Coast Path Cancer Challenge.
This event took place between 14th February and 10th March 2024. The ambitious journey strove to create a community united against cancer across the length and breadth of Wales.
The charity hike and bike ride was on behalf of a gentleman called Craig Maxwell who has terminal lung cancer. He took on the Wales Coast Path in a 26-day challenge, which saw him walk and cycle 870 miles across Wales. 26 days has been chosen to mirror the QuicDNA project’s goal of reducing diagnosis time.
Craig was joined each day by Welsh celebrities like Sam Warburton, Jamie Roberts, Gethin Jones, and Jamie Baulch to name a few.
The organisers said:
Having surpassed our initial goal of £300k, raising over £1 million for the Maxwell Family Genomics Fund, we are embarking on a monumental challenge to symbolise hope, resilience, and unity, we hope you can join us.

The 2023 Eisteddfod is taking place at Boduan, just outside Pwllheli, this week. Our great displays outside the farm are providing a warm welcome for everyone!

We are delighted to welcome the Wet Warrior Christian Camp to Afonwen Farm.
We hope they have a great time and enjoy the wonderful North Wales countryside.
We are now proud owners of the original 1950s cast iron vintage railway sign! Back in its real home at Afonwen.
Croeso – we recently welcomed the Rhodwyr Llyn Ramblers for a 6 mile walk, starting from Afonwen Farm.
The ramblers found the beach area near Afonwen very interesting.
